REA North held in Virovitica an nZEB Ready training on General Skills Related to nZEB Construction

Regional Energy Agency North, in collaboration with the Croatian Chamber of Economy (CCE – County Chamber Virovitica), organized an two day nZEB training on April 25 & 26, 2024, at the premises of CCE Virovitica.

Members of CCE, as well as all other interested parties, had the opportunity to gain new knowledge in the field of energy-efficient construction in an interesting and innovative way.

On the first day, all attendees were introduced to the principles of nZEB and basic concepts related to nearly zero-energy buildings.

Additionally, they could learn how to achieve a continuously insulated building envelope and minimize the impact of thermal bridges, along with understanding the requirements for building airtightness with a focus on resolving penetration details through the building envelope.

On the second day of the training, experts from REA North imparted knowledge on the installation of windows in an energy-efficient manner, insights into new materials and technologies in construction, and concluded the theoretical part of the training with an engaging topic on renewable energy sources and their integration into buildings.

After successfully mastering the theoretical knowledge, participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with and handle equipment for testing building airtightness (such as the Blower Door test), a device for testing heat transfer coefficients, and a thermal imaging camera.

The innovative approach to education, coupled with practical examples from the field and hands-on equipment usage, ensured participant satisfaction, as evidenced by the results of the conducted survey after the training.

The education was held as part of the activities of the nZEB Ready project, financed by the Horizon 2020 program.
